Dembele's Late Strike Secures PSG's Record 13th French Super Cup Victory

Paris Saint-Germain claimed their 13th French Super Cup title with a dramatic 1-0 victory over AS Monaco at the iconic Stadium 974. The match, played in Doha, saw both teams create numerous chances, but it was Ousmane Dembele's late strike that proved to be the difference.  

PSG, who had already secured a league and cup double last season, entered the match as favorites. However, Monaco, having finished second in Ligue 1, proved to be a formidable opponent. Both teams had opportunities throughout the game, but neither could find the breakthrough in the first half.

The second half saw a similar pattern, with both sides creating chances but failing to convert. However, in the dying moments of the match, PSG finally found the breakthrough. A swift counter-attack saw Dembele receive the ball on the edge of the box, and he calmly slotted the ball past the Monaco goalkeeper to seal the victory for PSG.

This win marks PSG's third consecutive Super Cup triumph and their 11th in the last 12 years, solidifying their dominance in the competition. It also marks a successful start to the season for new manager Luis Enrique, who will be hoping to lead PSG to further success in the coming months.
