Marseille Crushes Le Havre to Strengthen Hold on Second Place

Marseille moved three points clear of third-placed Monaco in Ligue 1 after a convincing 5-1 victory over Le Havre at home. The win also keeps them within striking distance of league leaders Paris Saint-Germain, who are seven points ahead.
The hosts started the game with a bang, taking the lead in the 25th minute through midfielder Valentin Rongier's powerful long-range strike. Bilal Nadir doubled their advantage shortly after, slotting home from inside the box. Le Havre's hopes of a comeback were further dashed before halftime when Neal Paupay headed in a precise cross from Quentin Merlin.
The second half saw Marseille continue their dominance. Elye Wahi capitalized on a perfect assist from Mason Greenwood to make it 4-0, and Ulisses Garcia added a fifth goal in the 75th minute. André Ayew managed a consolation goal for Le Havre late in the game, but it was too little too late for the visitors.
The win solidifies Marseille's position as the second-best team in the league and keeps them in the hunt for the title. They will face a tougher test in their next match against Rennes, but they will be confident after this impressive performance.
