Thailand Reach ASEAN Final as Suphanat's Extra-Time Header Downs Philippines
Thailand will face Vietnam in the final of the ASEAN Championship after a dramatic 3-1 win over the Philippines in Bangkok, securing a 4-3 aggregate victory. Suphanat Mueanta's crucial header in the 116th minute clinched the win for the defending champions.
After trailing 2-1 from the first leg in Manila, Thailand took the lead in the 37th minute with Peeradon Chamratsamee’s goal, which was followed by Patrik Gustavsson’s strike just after halftime, giving the Thais an aggregate lead. However, with seven minutes left, Philippines striker Bjorn Kristensen equalized with a low shot from 20 yards, sending the match into extra time.
As the game seemed headed for penalties, Suphanat connected with a cross from Worachit Kanitsribampen, scoring the decisive goal that sent Thailand through.

Vietnam joined Thailand in the final after defeating Singapore 3-1 in Viet Tri, completing a 5-1 aggregate victory.
