Cristiano Ronaldo Scores Twice as Al-Nassr Defeat Al-Gharafa 3-1 in AFC Champions League Elite

Cristiano Ronaldo netted career goals 912 and 913, leading Al-Nassr to a commanding 3-1 win over Al-Gharafa in the AFC Champions League Elite in Qatar on Monday.

The victory brings the Saudi champions closer to the quarterfinals, needing just two points from their remaining three group matches.

Despite missing several opportunities in the first half at Al-Bayt Stadium, Ronaldo opened his account just 50 seconds into the second half. He headed home from close range following a precise cross from Sultan Al Ghannam and doubled his tally in the 64th minute.

This brace took the all-time top scorer in football to four goals in the current competition before he was substituted 10 minutes later.

The win ensures Al-Nassr remains unbeaten in their first five matches in the Western Conference, propelling them to second place in the 12-team table.

This triumph comes after Ronaldo expressed his frustration on Saturday when Al-Nassr suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Al-Qadsiahfell, falling six points behind Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League title race.

Last season, Al-Nassr finished second in the table, trailing champions Al-Hilal by 14 points.

Ronaldo has scored 71 goals in 81 appearances for Al-Nassr since joining the club in January 2023. Despite his prolific scoring, he has only secured one trophy during his time in Saudi Arabia, the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023.

In the current league campaign, the Portuguese star has scored seven goals and provided two assists in 10 matches, as he continues his pursuit of domestic success in what is anticipated to be one of his final seasons as a professional player.
