Information
The Danish Superliga consists of 12 teams and uses a home-and-away double round-robin system. Points are calculated as follows: 3 points for a win, 0 points for a loss, and 1 point for a draw. Teams are ranked by accumulated points at the end of the season. The top six teams enter the Championship Round (or Championship Play-off), and the bottom six teams enter the Relegation Round (or Relegation Play-off). The points for the Championship and Relegation Rounds are calculated by combining the points from the regular season and the play-off matches. Tie-breaking Criteria (for teams with equal points) If two or more teams have the same number of points, the following criteria are applied in order to determine the ranking: a) Goal difference (Net goals); b) Goals scored; c) Away goals scored; d) If still tied, a play-off match on a neutral venue will be held to decide the final ranking; e) Drawing of lots (lottery). European Qualification & Relegation (I) The winner of the Championship Round qualifies for the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds for the next season. (II) The runner-up of the Championship Round qualifies for the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying rounds for the next season. (III) The third-placed team in the Championship Round and the winner of the Relegation Round will play a European qualification play-off match (for the Conference League qualifying round spot). The winner of this play-off secures a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying rounds for the next season. (IV) The Danish Cup winner qualifies for the UEFA Europa League play-off round for the next season. If the Cup winner has already secured a European spot through their league position, the slot is reallocated sequentially (i.e., passed down). (V) The bottom two teams in the Relegation Round are directly relegated to the Danish 1st Division (Danish First Division).
