Lewandowski Uncertain About Barcelona Future as Contract Nears End

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has expressed uncertainty regarding his future at the club, with his current contract set to expire in June 2026. In a recent interview, the 37-year-old Polish forward stated, "Right now, I don’t know where I want to play," highlighting that his decision will depend on both the club's intentions and his own assessment of what is best for him.
Lewandowski, who joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich in 2022, has been a prolific scorer for the Catalan side, netting over 100 goals during his tenure. However, the 2025-26 season has seen a dip in his output, with eight goals in around 18 appearances across all competitions, partly due to injuries and increased competition from teammates like Ferran Torres.
No renewal talks are underway, and Lewandowski will be free to negotiate with other clubs from January 1, 2026. Reports indicate interest from the Saudi Pro League, where his agent is expected to hold discussions, as well as from Major League Soccer teams and European sides such as AC Milan.
Despite the speculation, Lewandowski remains focused on performing for Barcelona and Poland, emphasizing his desire to continue competing at a high level. Manager Hansi Flick is reportedly set to discuss the striker's role in January, which could influence any potential extension.
