Seko Fofana sets Saudi league transfer record as he leaves for €20m transfer fee

On January 2, Rennes signed 29-year-old Ivorian international midfielder Sekou Fofana from Riyadh Victory at a cost of 20 million euros.

Seko Fofana joined Riyadh Victory from Lens in the summer window of 2023 for €25 million, and after half a season with the team, he was loaned out for a year to the Darman Collaboration until he was signed by Rennes in this year's winter window.

The deal for Sekou Fofana also set a new record for transfer fees received by a player moving out of the Saudi League.
