Sporting CP Sack Manager João Pereira, Appoint Rui Borges as Replacement

Sporting CP have confirmed the dismissal of head coach João Pereira, just six weeks after he replaced Rúben Amorim who departed for Manchester United.
The club has wasted no time in securing a replacement, appointing Rui Borges as the new manager. Borges, who previously managed Vitória Guimarães, has already signed his contract and is expected to be officially unveiled in the coming hours.
Pereira's tenure proved to be short-lived, with Sporting experiencing a dip in form under his guidance. The team suffered a series of disappointing results, including a heavy defeat to Arsenal in the Champions League.
Sporting will be hoping that Borges can quickly stabilize the team and return them to the level of success they achieved under Amorim.
