Confident! Myanmar Boasts It Can Steal Points From Indonesia National Team in 2024 AFF Cup

The Myanmar National Team, led by coach Myo Hlaing Win, is optimistic about securing points in their upcoming match against the Indonesian U-22 National Team during the 2024 AFF Cup. This match will take place at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon on Monday evening, December 9, 2024.
"Our group, both Group A and Group B, consists of strong teams," Myo Hlaing Win stated, as reported by Myanmar media outlet Npnewsmm. "However, we cannot feel pressured. We'll approach each match one at a time."
Myo Hlaing Win outlined the team's goals, stating, "In our group, we will play four matches. Our minimum target for the first match against Indonesia is to earn one point."

Relying on Luck
The coach emphasized the importance of fortune, saying, "If luck is on our side when we host Indonesia, it's possible for us to secure a win."
Group B also includes the Vietnam National Team, the Philippines National Team, and the Laos National Team, with the top two teams advancing to the semifinals.
Indonesia and Vietnam as Favorites
The Indonesian and Vietnamese national teams are seen as favorites to progress from Group B. Nevertheless, Myanmar remains determined. Myo Hlaing Win is assessing their chances of reaching the top four.
"After facing Indonesia, we will play against the Philippines on December 12, 2024. Given the tight schedule, we've prepared player rotations and are ready for potential injuries. Our goal is to win that match," he added.
"Then, on December 18, 2024, we will host Laos. Our target is clear: to win and secure six points in total," Myo Hlaing Win said.
Various Scenario Considerations
"The last match will be against Vietnam on December 21, 2024, away from home," he noted. "If we can gather six to seven points from the next three games, that final match will determine our fate in the tournament."
"We have prepared thoroughly, including strategy, player rotation, and contingency plans for various scenarios," Myo Hlaing Win explained.
