Kane nets hat trick as Bayern beat Augsburg

Harry Kane scored a hat trick, including two goals in second-half stoppage time, to secure a 3-0 win for Bayern Munich over visiting Augsburg on Friday. This victory extends Bayern's lead at the top of the league to eight points and marks their sixth consecutive clean sheet across all competitions.

The league leaders, who face Paris St Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday, remain undefeated in the Bundesliga with 29 points following their fifth straight league game without conceding a goal.
Second-placed RB Leipzig, who play Hoffenheim on Saturday, stand on 21 points.

As expected, Bayern dominated possession, holding over 70% for much of the first half. However, Augsburg's goalkeeper, Nediljko Labrovic, kept the game goalless by making key saves against Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, and Leon Goretzka, who also struck the crossbar four minutes into the second half.

Labrovic continued his fine form, denying Michael Olise in the 51st minute but was unable to stop Kane from converting a well-taken penalty in the 63rd minute.

In stoppage time, following a lengthy VAR review, Augsburg's Keven Schlotterbeck was sent off for tripping Kane in front of goal, leading to another penalty. Kane beat Labrovic, who guessed the wrong side again, before completing his hat trick with a fine header moments later, taking his league tally to 14 goals.
