Napoli Player Report Card as They Steal Points at Inter's Home: Energy, Tenacity and McTominay's Goal
Napoli successfully stole points at Inter Milan's home ground in the 12th week of Serie A 2024/2025, Monday (11/11/2024). The Italian League match between Inter vs Napoli at Giuseppe Meazza ended in a 1-1 draw.
Napoli took the lead through Scott McTominay's close-range tap-in from a corner in the 23rd minute, before Inter hit back through Hakan Calhanoglu's long-range effort in the 43rd minute. Napoli avoided defeat after Calhanoglu's penalty in the 73rd minute only hit the post.
Inter had the upper hand in ball possession (54% - 46%), shots (13 - 5), and shots on target (4 - 2), while Napoli was able to keep up. Both teams had to share points.

Napoli Back Line
Alex Meret – 7
There was little he could do to stop Calhanoglu’s rocket, but he made three crucial saves to help Napoli secure a point.
Giovanni Di Lorenzo – 6
Did a good job in defence, but his trademark runs down the wings were rarely seen, especially in the second half.
Amir Rrahmani – 6.5
Despite providing the assist for McTominay's goal, the Kosovo international defender had his ups and downs, but often got the better of Lautaro Martinez.
Alessandro Buongiorno – 7.5
Tonight’s performance saw him crowned as one of Serie A’s best defenders. His athleticism and anticipation were superb, making him a wall that Inter’s attackers couldn’t break through.
Mathias Olivera – 7
Like Buongiorno, the Uruguayan left-back also made some crucial blocks, but his attacking contribution still needs to be improved.

Napoli Midfield
Billy Gilmour – 6
With Stanislav Lobotka fully recovered, the Scottish midfielder is likely to return to the bench. Not a particularly impressive display!
Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa – 6.5
Anguissa's physical presence helped Napoli match Inter's strengths in midfield, but he should have done more on the ball.
Scott McTominay – 7
It was no surprise that manager Antonio Conte abandoned his favoured 3-5-2 formation to accommodate the former Manchester United man. His goal was a fitting reward for the energy and tenacity he showed.

Napoli Front Line
Matteo Politano – 5.5
Perhaps his worst performance of the season. With Napoli preferring to attack down the left, he was often a spectator.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – 6
After some brilliant progressive runs in the opening 20 minutes and firing in Napoli’s first shot on target, the Georgian star then faded. Although he showed a bit of sparkle in the second half, it wasn’t enough.
Romelu Lukaku – 6
Constantly involved in intense physical duels with Alessandro Bastoni and Francesco Acerbi, the former Inter striker played a key role in the build-up but lacked threat in the penalty area.

Napoli Substitutes
Stanislav Lobotka – 6
John Simeon – 5
Cyril Ngonge – Played briefly, not rated
