Jordan Veretout Completes Move to Olympique Lyon from Marseille

Olympique Lyon have strengthened their midfield with the signing of Jordan Veretout from Ligue 1 rivals Marseille. The French midfielder joins Les Gones on a permanent deal for a fee of €4 million plus add-ons.

Veretout, 30, has spent the past two seasons at Marseille, making 89 appearances and scoring 11 goals. He previously played for Fiorentina, Roma, and Aston Villa.

The move to Lyon represents a return to his hometown for Veretout, who was born and raised in the city. He previously played for Lyon's youth team before joining Nantes in 2010.

Lyon are hoping that Veretout's experience and leadership will help them to challenge for a place in Europe next season. The club finished seventh in Ligue 1 last season and are looking to improve on that finish.
